Band: Arctic Monkeys
The Arctic Monkeys are an indie rock band that hails from Sheffield, England. Their first hit was “I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor” in 2005, topping the charts. Ever since then, they’ve grown to be comparable to notable English bands like Oasis. Their unique vocals and guitar riffs have captured the interests of the youth all over the world, especially the US. Some describe their music as “falsetto-spiced, groove-laden, slightly spooky, laid-back.”
The band is made of up four members: Alex Turner (lead vocals), Jamie Cook (lead guitarist), Nick O’Malley (bass guitarist), and Matt Helders (drums). Part of the band’s success and uniqueness can be attributed to the long-lasting friendship between the band members. They grew up together and were friends even before forming the band. Today, they all live in Los Angeles, inseparable.
The Arctic Monkeys have recently released their 5th album, “AM” and it has been named “their greets album yet.” It truly captures the essence of what they want their music to sound like. Their most popular song from the album is “Do I Wanna Know.” Most of their songs revolve around heartbreak and personal experiences.
