The Killers

Oh if only I knew about this band sooner. I remember the first time I heard The Killers. I was in my bedroom and my sister was obnoxiously playing her music loud. I told her to keep it down but she insisted I had to listen to these songs. I was automatically hooked. I started to listen to their greatest hits album to get a general idea of who they were. Their greatest hits album, Direct Hits, was released in 2013. I became obsessed with “Shot At The night” , “Miss Atomic Bomb”, “Human” “Just Another Girl” and “Somebody Told Me”.

The Killers formed in Las Vegas, in 2002. The band consists of main singer Brandon Flowers, guitarist Dave Keuning, bassist Mark Stoermer, and drummer Ronnie Vannucci. In the early 2000s, Flowers was dropped by his band when he found Keuning’s small ad in a local Las Vegas newspaper. The two bonded over their love for the band Oasis and wrote their first hit single “Mr. Brightside”. Stoermer and Vannucci joined the band shortly after through auditions. They did local gigs around Vegas until a U.K. representative from Warner Brothers spotted them. They signed with Lizard King Records and recorded their first album, which was released in 2004. Their first album “Hot Fuss” earned them 5 Grammy nominations and sold over 5 million albums. “Mr. Brightside” went triple platinum in the United States.

The band has an American rock and synth pop mix genre to the. They focus on odd themes such as paranoia, jealousy, and ambition. They fans call themselves “victims.” I recently became a victim.
